It's the year 1998. Evil won against good and now it's the bloodsnobs who make the rules. Things have undergone drastic changes, not only at Hogwarts but in every part of the wizarding world. Changes which have also effected the muggles.

 something, or rather someone(blake)
« Thread Started on Jul 2, 2009, 11:54am »

As Clarissa walked down the hall on her way to the owlery, she thought of her parents. Her mother had been a proud Gryffindor who lived up to all expectations. Her father was Huffulpuff who lazed around as much as possible. Needless to say, cupid had his work cut out for him when he got them together. When she was younger, people allays said that her sister could have just as well been a younger version of their mother, that her brother was like her father and she was like neither. So like always, she fell through the cracks. Ideally, she wondered if that was way she all ways tried to be a bit more out there when she first came to Hogwarts. All of a sudden she rammed right into something, or rather someone.

. o O (Sorry about the lateness. My brain has been on vacation for awhile. xP)

Blake was just worrying about his former Dark Arts friend cursing him from behind when he felt something collide with his side. Although Blake was able to keep from falling down, he instantly tried to flee the area. He tripped over his own tangled feet before he could even make a full step however and he landed on the ground. Blake rolled over onto his back, looking up at Clarissa with frightened eyes. Although his expression began to change to annoyance the moment he realized he was actually quite safe.

(It's cool, I'm being super slow too ;) )

After having seen Blake Gutierrez trip over his own robes, she did all she could to keep form laughing openly in his face. Really who trips over their own robes? Well okay, she had done the same thing the first time she put them on while on the train to Hogwarts, but that’s beside the point. Seeing his frightened expression transform to annoyance when he realize who was standing over him made her want to laugh even more.
“I know I’m not as scary as a death eater, but don’t I frighten you a little bit?” she asked in a mocking voice. She had a small coy smile on her face.

Blake was so startled to hear a girl speak to him in something other than utter disgust, he gaped at Clarissa for a moment. Blake shook his head and rubbed his head with a hand over his eye. He climbed to his feet, not caring for lying on the ground much. Blake stared at Clarissa with a wary eye.
"Of course you do." Blake spoke in a slow, quiet voice. He still couldn't be sure whether she was talking to him or not.

‘Oh my’ thought Clarissa to herself. He was this flustered when a girl talked to him? The poor boy...Clarissa couldn’t help but let out a small chuckle, but immediately feeling bad about it, he was obviously uncomfortable. Looking him straight in the eyes and putting a hand on his arm slowly and stopped laughing.
“It was a joke, you know”, she said softly, trying not to be mean, “and sorry about ramming into you.” Smiling in anticipation at his reaction, not that she only apologized to see his reaction, she really was sorry. But who wouldn’t want to see what he would do if he was so flustered when a girl said two words to him, anyways Clarissa had always been to curious for her own good.

. o O (Sorry, I thought I had replied already. Must've been trying when I was tired again. Haha! Sorry. lol)

Blake's eyes widened in surprise. He stumbled backward but quickly recovered himself. Blake began walking away from Clarissa slowly now. "Eh... Yeah. Sorry. I meant thanks. I think?" Blake nodded then turned about-face swiftly. He rubbed sweat from his forehead and sighed with relief. He began to walk quickly, not daring but desiring to look back.

“Hey wait up!” Clarissa yelled out without thinking. She ran next to him with a smirk on her face. “You didn’t think you would get away that easily did you?” she said in a joking voice trying to meet his eyes. Going ahead of him and walking backwards to face him she smiled at his shyness. “You know it wouldn’t kill you to be a bit more outgoing, but I guess it must be hard with all those slytherin breathing down your neck.” Smiling at him once more she winked at him jokingly.

Blake blew out a long gasp, as if he'd been holding his breath for a while. When Clarissa jumped out in front of him, Blake glowered at her for a moment. After a few seconds, blake halted. He shrugged. "That's not it at all. You just startled me is all." Blake shook his head. "They don't bother me. I like being alone. None of those pure-blood brats could ever scare me!"

“I didn’t mean to be, well, mean…” She paused for a minute not sure what to say to him. A boy who jumped out of his skin when a girl talked to him but then claimed people like Katrina Saeh Wolfe didn’t scare him, interesting… “If you like being alone so much why haven’t you told me to get lost yet?” She asked jokingly, but underneath the humor was real curiosity. Clarissa had never really bothered to want to be her befriend those who didn’t want to be her friend, but there was something about Blake that made her stick to him.

Blake shrugged and looked to the ground in front of his feet, showing a slight interest in it. "I could have." With a furtive glance at Clarissa, Blake went on softly "I only meant I didn't care for a Slytherin Pure-blood's company anymore. Trying to be civil with them is hard. Not to mention that it's only possible when they want civil conversation. 'Remind me of goblins,' my father says sometimes. Eh. He says alot of silly things though. Seems to become more or less prejudiced depending how drunk or sober he is." Blake shrugged again. Wondering if Clarissa even cared about his family or personal life. His eyes narrowed as Blake decided he really didn't care.

(sorry I took so long, I was on vacation and I'm super busy with getting ready for school :P )

Clarissa looked down and sighed.
“Oh. I know what it’s like to deal with a father who’s not always, um, completely there.”
She desperately tried to keep her thoughts in the present, thinking of her father’s parenting skills after that night only broth her tears, and crying in front of Blake Gutierrez, a boy she had talked for the first time that day, was not the best idea. If she just kept her thought away from those few time he’d talked to her, the horrible nightmares that hunted her sleep as a young girl…
Hastily, Clarissa lifted her hand up wiped away the tears building in her eyes at lightning speed.
“If you ever need someone to talk to, I’m all ears.” She didn’t know how many times she had wished someone would have offered to listen to her, the least she could do was listen to someone else. Treat others like you want to be treated yourself, her mother always used to say that.
“Oh you know what,” Clarissa said with a big smile, “I’m a pure-blood to you know, does that mean I’m a brat too?”

Blake turned his head to look at a wall. He needed to hide his astonishment until he could get his reflexes back under control. A half-second later, Blake turned back to Clarissa. His frown was slightly twitchy. His eyes seemed rather bright, almost thingyy. Being as arrogant as he was, Blake hardly recognized any trace of gloom from Clarissa.

"I doubt I'll need any to talk to. What's done is done. And that's that." Blake made a horizontal swiping gesture with his forearms. "But, uh. I suppose not all Pure-brats are all blood." Blake shrugged nervously. He visibly became skittish again.
